Cooking for Crowds

A Volunteer's Guide to Safe Food Handling

Workshop will explore the causes of foodborne illness, how to prevent foodborne illnesses and how to start practicing good food safety strategies for the next food fund-raiser.

Fee is $25.00 for the first person from each organization ($5.00 for each additional attendee).

2 Training opportunities available:

Monroe County: Tuesday, May 13, 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm, at the Monroe County Extension office, Stroudsburg, PA Registration deadline is May 7th.

Pike County: Thursday, May 22, 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm, at the Blooming Grove Fire Hall, Lords Valley PA Registration deadline is May 15th.

Strengthening Families Program - GROW Healthy Families

Thursdays - starting May 1, 2008 until June 5, 2008

Free program for Adults and Youth (ages 10-12) living in the same home.

Program is desinged to: help parents build on their strengths in showing love and setting limits; hlep youth develop skills in handling peer pressure and building a positive future; and help families grow together. This is a 6 week program to: improve parenting skills; build life skills in youth and strengthen family bonds.

First 1/2 hour families share a meal together (no charge). Next hour parents and youth meet separately with facilitators and the last hour, parents and youth meet together as a family and complete family activities.

We are pleased to offer this custom designed Liztech pin in recognition of the 4-H program in Monroe County.

4-H is a youth development program open to all youth agest 5 to 18 with over 150 projects to choose from.

The "Heart of 4-H" pin is available for a donation of $50.
